Over 200 rolls of aluminum foil filled with dried leaves and approximately 1,000 small branches, believed to be marijuana, were confiscated in Tacirua, near Suva, yesterday afternoon.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operation, Livai Driu, reported that the Fiji Police Force executed a coordinated raid involving personnel from the Southern Division’s Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, the Fiji Detector Dog Unit, and the Police Dog Unit.
The operation targeted the residence of a 57-year-old man, where the illegal substances were found prepared for sale. ACP Driu emphasized the importance of community collaboration with the police in addressing drug-related issues.
“The raid underscores the ongoing support from community members in partnering with the Fiji Police Force by sharing valuable information,” he stated. “We are grateful to all those who continue to support our policing initiatives in the fight against drugs.”
