A joint operation by police in Tacirua resulted in the confiscation of dried leaves that are believed to be marijuana.
The raid involved officers from the Southern Division’s Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, the Fiji Detector Dog Unit, and the Police Dog Unit.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Livai Driu reported that the search at the home of a 57-year-old suspect revealed over 200 rolls of aluminum foil filled with the dried leaves, in addition to more than a thousand small branches believed to be marijuana.
ACP Driu underscored the significance of community involvement in providing essential information to law enforcement. He commended the successful operation as a meaningful advancement in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking, stressing the vital role of police-community partnerships.
