A coordinated operation by police in Tacirua led to the discovery of dried leaves believed to be marijuana. The raid involved officers from the Southern Division’s Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, the Fiji Detector Dog Unit, and the Police Dog Unit.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Livai Driu reported that the raid at the residence of a 57-year-old suspect resulted in the seizure of over 200 rolls of aluminum foil containing the dried leaves, along with more than a thousand small branches, which are also suspected to be marijuana.

ACP Driu stressed the significance of community contributions in providing essential information to law enforcement. He commended the operation as a crucial advancement in the battle against drug trafficking and underscored the importance of collaboration between police and the community.
