Police in Tacirua conducted a joint raid yesterday that resulted in the seizure of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana. The operation involved officers from the Southern Division’s Serious and Organized Crime and Intelligence Department, the Fiji Detector Dog Unit, and the Police Dog Unit.

During the raid at the residence of a 57-year-old suspect, over 200 rolls of aluminum foil containing dried leaves and more than a thousand small branches were discovered, all believed to be marijuana.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Livai Driu emphasized the significance of community support in delivering crucial information to law enforcement. He commended the successful operation as a crucial advancement in the battle against drug trafficking and highlighted the importance of collaboration between the police and the community.
