A coordinated raid by police officers in Tacirua yesterday led to the discovery of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana. The operation involved members from the Southern Division’s Serious and Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, the Fiji Detector Dog Unit, and the Police Dog Unit.

During the raid at the residence of a 57-year-old suspect, authorities found over 200 rolls of aluminum foil containing the dried leaves, along with more than a thousand small branches believed to be marijuana.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Livai Driu emphasized the significance of community support in providing crucial information to law enforcement. He praised the successful operation as an important move in the battle against drug trafficking and underscored the critical role of collaboration between the police and the community.
