A collaborative task force consisting of members from the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU), and Divisional Operations team executed a successful raid in Nadonumai today, leading to the arrest of three individuals on charges of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu revealed that the task force was deployed to carry out two separate raids in the Nadonumai area. One of these operations resulted in the discovery of substances believed to be marijuana, several gadgets suspected to be stolen, and equipment potentially used for packaging illegal drugs.
The three arrested men are currently in custody at the Lami Police Station as investigations continue. ACP Driu emphasized that the ongoing efforts this festive season aim to disrupt criminal networks and increase pressure on their illicit activities through strategic raids. He underscored the importance of community involvement in the fight against drug-related crime and encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activities by contacting Crime Stoppers at 919.
This initiative not only reflects the commitment of law enforcement agencies to maintain public safety but also highlights the importance of community vigilance in tackling illegal drug activities. By working together, the community and the police can create a safer environment for all during the festive season and beyond.
