Seven individuals were taken into custody during a drug operation in Waqadra, Nadi, on Thursday. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu reported that authorities confiscated multiple zip lock bags containing crystals suspected to be methamphetamine, as well as a bag containing a white powder believed to be cocaine. Additionally, law enforcement recovered over $300, thought to be proceeds from criminal activity.
ACP Driu detailed that this recent apprehension is part of a broader initiative, with other arrests made over the past week in various locations, including behind the Labasa market, Tomuka in Lautoka, and numerous settlements in Lautoka and Tavua.
This crackdown on illegal drug possession signifies a continued commitment by law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes in the region, aiming to create a safer community. The proactive measures taken by the police could pave the way for improved public safety and a potential reduction in drug abuse among residents.
