A team from the Joint Serious and Organised Crime Unit in Suva and the West conducted a raid in Nadi on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the arrest of five men allegedly linked to the illegal drug trade.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime, Mesake Waqa, confirmed that multiple sachets containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine were recovered, along with dried leaves thought to be marijuana.
The substances have been sent for analysis as the investigation progresses, and the five suspects are currently in custody.
Additionally, several arrests have been made over the past week involving individuals suspected of distributing both green and white drugs across five policing divisions.
