Major Drug Bust in Lautoka: Three Arrested!

Three individuals were taken into custody yesterday for their suspected involvement with illegal drugs. The Police K-9 Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Waiyavi, Lautoka, where they searched the occupants. Among them was a 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old man from Duna Place in Nadi. During the search, the K-9 Unit discovered two clear plastic bags containing a white substance that is believed to be methamphetamine.

Additionally, a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) driver residing in Cunningham was also arrested after police discovered seedlings that are suspected to be marijuana. A thorough investigation was carried out at his residence by a team from the Fiji Dog Detector Unit (FDDU) alongside the Police K-9 Unit, which resulted in the recovery of more marijuana seedlings.

All three suspects remain in police custody as authorities continue their investigation into the matter.

This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in combating drug-related offenses in the community, emphasizing their commitment to public safety and the importance of timely intervention.
