Major Drug Bust in Fiji: Seven Arrested in Nadi Raid!

In a significant drug enforcement operation, seven individuals were taken into custody during a raid in Waqadra, Nadi, on Thursday. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu reported that law enforcement recovered several zip-lock bags containing crystals believed to be methamphetamine, along with a zip-lock bag that contained a white powder suspected to be cocaine. In addition to the drugs, authorities also confiscated over $300, which is thought to be related to criminal activities.

ACP Driu highlighted that this raid is part of a broader effort, noting that additional arrests concerning the unlawful possession of controlled substances occurred in various locations over the past week, including behind the Labasa market, Tomuka in Lautoka, Dreketi Settlement in Lautoka, Varadoli in Ba, Nasivi Street in Tavua, Nanuku Settlement, and Samabula.

This ongoing crackdown on illicit drug activities is a hopeful indication of authorities’ commitment to enhancing community safety and reducing drug-related crime. Such operations are crucial in combating the influence of drugs within communities, ultimately fostering a safer environment for everyone.
