Fiji Bati winger Maika Sivo has officially signed a three-year contract with the Leeds Rhinos. Sivo recently made headlines by scoring two tries for Fiji in their dominant 56-6 victory over the Cook Islands, bringing his career total to 10 tries in eight international matches.

In an interview following his announcement as a Leeds player, Sivo spoke about his strong bond with Leeds coach Brad Arthur. After transferring from the NRL’s Parramatta Eels, where he enjoyed a successful run as a try-scorer, Sivo is eager to reunite with Arthur, who had spent a decade at Parramatta before joining Leeds. Sivo emphasized the significant role Arthur has played in his career, stating, “I wouldn’t be here without Brad.”

Upon receiving Arthur’s message about the opportunity, Sivo and his partner quickly decided to make the move to Leeds. “When we talked to Brad, we are excited for the challenge ahead and we are looking forward to it,” he shared. While Sivo acknowledged that this transition from Parramatta will be a different experience, he views it as a positive challenge for his career.
