Fiji Bati winger Maika Sivo is making a move to the English Super League after signing a three-year contract with the Leeds Rhinos. Known for his impressive power and scoring prowess, Sivo’s transition represents a new chapter in his career as he departs the NRL, where he spent six successful seasons with the Parramatta Eels.
Sivo hails from the village of Momi in Nadroga, and his rise to rugby league prominence is a testament to his hard work and commitment. After starting his career playing village rugby in Fiji, he broke into the NRL with Parramatta in 2019, maintaining strong ties to his roots throughout his journey.
His return to Leeds reunites him with former coach Brad Arthur, who played an instrumental role in honing Sivo’s skills while at the Eels. Arthur, now the head coach of Leeds, expressed enthusiasm for Sivo joining the team, stating, “I know he’ll make his mark here in Leeds just like he did in Australia. Maika is a proven try scorer, and he will bring strike to our back line.”
Fans of the Leeds Rhinos are eagerly looking forward to Sivo’s debut.
