Nadi-based Mahajibhai Hardware has demonstrated its support for the district football team ahead of the FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. This was announced during a cheque presentation of $7,500 held in Martintar, Nadi, yesterday. Company director Sudhish Patel expressed that this is the first occasion they have opted to support their district team.
“I want to support Nadi Football and its community, particularly as the boys have been working hard and improving their results,” Patel stated. He expressed hope that the team would achieve victory in the tournament, wishing them good luck in bringing the trophy home this year.
Nadi Football Association president Mohin Rafiq described the sponsorship from Mahajibhai Hardware as a significant blessing for the local football community. He acknowledged the challenges companies face during these times when seeking sponsorship.
Rafiq noted that the team will be recognized as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi, reflecting its association with two major sponsors. He extended personal gratitude to head coach Raj Dayal and the dedicated members in Calgary as well as supporters from around the globe. Rafiq emphasized the team’s commitment to performing well in the upcoming IDC and mentioned that they are implementing a solid plan for success.
He confirmed that the coaches and board of control are fully supportive of the team’s preparations. Nadi is set to compete against reigning champions Ba in their first match next Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
