The incident occurred on January 30, 2023, when the accused, along with another individual, allegedly deceived a member of the public into transferring $600 through the M-Paisa platform.

The victim was lured by an investment opportunity that was advertised on Facebook. After the transfer was made, the accused’s mobile number was promptly blocked by Vodafone, leaving the victim without any means to recover the funds. This fraudulent activity was reported to the Nakasi Police Station, leading to the suspect’s arrest.
