Lynda Tabuya, a member of the People’s Alliance Party (PAP), has announced her intention to pursue legal action against two Fijian nationals currently residing abroad. This statement follows the party’s decision to allow her to continue her membership.

Tabuya expressed her relief and gratitude regarding the party’s decision, stating, “This matter should never have been raised, and I am grateful that reason and fairness have prevailed.” She emphasized her commitment to serving the people of Fiji and reaffirmed her dedication to addressing pivotal issues that affect the Fijian community.

“I refuse to be distracted,” Ms. Tabuya stated, asserting her focus as a backbencher on driving meaningful change. She revealed her plans to take legal steps against individuals in Australia and England, which may involve seeking extradition to Fiji for them to face charges. To facilitate these actions, she intends to travel to both countries to file complaints personally.

Tabuya also took a moment to acknowledge the support she has received from her constituents, which has bolstered her determination to persist in her public service commitment.

In a time when public figures are under significant scrutiny, Tabuya’s legal measures and unwavering commitment to her duties demonstrate her resolve to advocate for the people of Fiji. Her proactive stance not only underlines her dedication but also illustrates a broader commitment by politicians to uphold accountability, thereby reinforcing trust within the community.
