PROUDS, a prominent family-owned luxury retail chain, has invested approximately $500,000 into establishing a new outlet at the Damodar City Complex in Labasa.
According to Reshmi Singh, the general manager of Prouds, the outlet currently employs five staff members, three of whom are local residents with prior experience from other Prouds locations. She expressed the company’s commitment to further expand its team to better cater to the demands of the growing business, with plans to hire two more employees in the near future.
The decision to open the Labasa outlet stemmed from significant public demand. Singh mentioned that it took just two months to set up the new location. The new outlet offers a variety of high-quality products, including jewelry, fragrances, cosmetics, and fashion accessories, providing a much-needed shopping option for local residents.
Sangeeta, the shop’s first customer, shared that the new store means he no longer has to travel to Suva for his favorite branded items, highlighting the convenience the outlet brings to the community. Additionally, Sangeeta praised the store’s layout, noting that it meets international standards akin to the Prouds outlet in Nadi.
The new store is conveniently situated next to the Lunch Box and the food court at Damodar City Labasa.
This investment not only enhances local shopping options but also demonstrates a commitment to supporting the community through job creation and quality service. By responding to local demand and striving to meet international standards, Prouds is hopeful about its positive impact on the Labasa area’s economy.
In summary, PROUDS has opened a new outlet in Labasa, investing substantially to create local employment opportunities and provide residents with easy access to high-quality luxury products.
