Proudly continuing its expansion, PROUDS, a renowned family-owned luxury shopping outlet, has invested approximately $500,000 in opening a new location at the Damodar City Complex in Labasa. The general manager, Reshmi Singh, revealed that the outlet currently employs five staff members, three of whom are local residents who have previously worked at other PROUDS locations.
Singh expressed enthusiasm about the growing business and shared plans to increase the team by hiring two additional local employees, bringing the total to seven. The decision to establish an outlet in Labasa stemmed from high public demand, and the store was ready for operation just two months after the initial setup.
Sangeeta, the first customer of the new outlet, expressed relief that he no longer needs to travel to Suva for his favorite branded items. He highlighted that the store offers a diverse selection of quality products, including jewelry, fragrances, cosmetics, and fashion accessories, all conveniently located under one roof. Sangeeta commended the outlet for meeting international standards, likening its setup to that of an outlet in Nadi.
The new PROUDS store is situated next to the Lunch Box and the food court at the Damodar City Labasa, making it a central shopping destination for residents and visitors alike.
This expansion not only creates job opportunities for locals but also enhances the shopping experience in Labasa, demonstrating a commitment to community engagement and quality service. The establishment of this outlet signifies a positive response to local demand and showcases the potential for further growth in the region’s retail sector.
Overall, the future looks bright for PROUDS in Labasa, paving the way for a more vibrant local economy and a superior shopping experience for the community.
