Former Socceroo Luke Wilkshire has been announced as the chief guest for the Extra Supermarket Fiji FA Awards Night, set to take place on December 1 at the Crowne Plaza in Nadi. Fiji Football Association Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Yusuf expressed enthusiasm over Wilkshire’s involvement, highlighting it as a privilege to have a FIFA Legend at the awards. In his playing career, Wilkshire represented prominent clubs such as Middlesbrough, Bristol City, FC Twente, Dinamo Moscow, Feyenoord, and Sydney FC, where he clinched the A-League title in the 2017-2018 season. He earned 80 caps for Australia, scored 8 goals, and took part in two FIFA World Cups (2006, 2010), the victorious 2015 AFC Asian Cup team, and the 2004 Athens Olympics. Since retiring, Wilkshire has made a successful transition into coaching and remains a respected figure in Australian football, known for his tactical intelligence and leadership skills.
