Fijian rugby player Luke Tagi has officially extended his contract with Aviron Bayonnais until 2028, as announced by the Basque rugby club. Tagi, who joined Bayonne last season, began his professional journey in 2019 with Stade Français in the Top 14, where he made 18 appearances over two seasons. He then moved to Aix-en-Provence in ProD2, where he shone on the field, notching up 45 appearances and scoring eight tries over two successful seasons.
His impressive performances in recent years earned him a spot on the Flying Fijians squad for the 2023 Rugby World Cup, where he demonstrated his exceptional skills and cemented his status as a world-class talent. Aviron Bayonnais expressed confidence in Tagi’s contributions to the team, noting that “his presence will continue to shine in the group.”
In a sign of support, Team BSMI also congratulated Tagi and his fiancé Stella, emphasizing that this new contract signals an exciting new chapter both on and off the field.
This positive development not only benefits Tagi but also strengthens Aviron Bayonnais’ roster as they aim for success in future competitions. Tagi’s journey reflects resilience, determination, and growth, inspiring both fans and aspiring rugby players.
