Tokasa Nadagalu delivered a powerful message about love overcoming hatred and darkness when she was crowned Miss Vodafone Gold ‘N’ Water 2024 at Garvey Park in Tavua last Saturday night. The 19-year-old was sponsored by the vanua o Tavualevu and hails from Tavua Village. She grew up under the care of relatives following her father’s departure, and tragically lost her mother at the age of 14.
During her crowning, she encouraged her peers with the words “Never Give Up.” The emotional winner expressed gratitude to God for her achievement.
Quoting the late Mother Teresa, she emphasized that “Only love can drive out darkness and hatred.” In her speech, she extended her thanks to major sponsor Vodafone Fiji and the Tavualevu community, as well as Krishna Goundar for their support.
