The Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, has issued a warning to the public regarding the importance of not leaving vehicles unattended with keys in the ignition. This notice comes in response to two recent incidents where vehicles were stolen by suspects who found the keys inside.

ACP Driu emphasized that opportunistic criminals often exploit these situations and urged vehicle owners to exercise caution and secure their cars at all times. “Opportunists have no respect for others when they set out to commit crimes, which can also jeopardize the safety of the victims’ families if they are in the vehicle,” he stated.

He also mentioned that once a theft report is filed, authorities will set up checkpoints to prevent the stolen vehicle from being used in further criminal activities.
