Ten local coaches are participating in a five-day Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) B-licence coaching course Part Two, taking place at the Fiji Football Association Academy in Ba. The training, which commenced on Sunday and will wrap up on Thursday, is designed to elevate the skill levels of coaches and enhance their knowledge in the field.

Coach Educator Yogendra Dutt emphasized that the course focuses on six key competencies: football, leadership, game understanding, player development, the coaching process, and the formulation of a personal football philosophy. Dutt expressed the intent to provide valuable experiences to the coaches while also encouraging them to adapt to future challenges in their careers.

This Part Two session follows the completion of the B-licence Part One, which took place in December 2023 at the Suva Academy. The current program is being led by Dutt alongside national coach Rob Sherman.

Coaches involved in this session represent several teams, including Ronil Kumar from Ba, Babs Khan from Suva, Roderick Singh from Rewa, Saiyad Ali from Navua, Rozal Hussain from Savusavu, Johan Leewai from Labasa, Mohammed Asif Khan from Nadi, Dhiren Chand from Ba, Shawal Prasad from Tavua, and Alvin Chand from Labasa.

This initiative not only strengthens the local coaching community but also has the potential to positively impact the development of football in the region, fostering a new generation of skilled players and coaches. With dedicated trainers like Dutt and Sherman at the helm, the future of football in Fiji looks promising.
