A businessman from Labasa is making a significant investment to build two hotels in Fiji’s Northern division. Vinesh Dayal, the managing director of The Lunchbox, Northpole Hotels Labasa, and Vualiku Hotel Nadi, announced plans for developments in both Labasa and Savusavu.
“We have always wanted to establish a presence in Savusavu,” Dayal stated, revealing that they have secured a 10-acre beachfront property in the area. He anticipates that within the next two years, the first resort built by a local developer will be unveiled.
Regarding the Labasa project, he indicated that construction on Vualiku Hotel at Jaycee’s Park is expected to commence shortly. This hotel project at Jaycee’s Park is a collaboration with local landowners, a partnership that was formed 14 years ago.
“The goal was to involve landowners in mainstream business, and it seems we are now approaching a successful outcome,” Dayal remarked. He added that these two projects are set to provide job opportunities and contribute to the local economy.
Currently, Lunchbox operates seven branches and employs 100 people. Additionally, the new Vualiku Hotel in Nadi provides jobs for 40 workers, and Labasa Northpole employs another 30. Dayal expressed strong confidence in the economy, which motivates his substantial investment in business ventures.
