A businessman from Labasa is making a significant investment by building two hotels in the Northern Division. Vinesh Dayal, the managing director of The Lunchbox, Northpole Hotels Labasa, and Vualiku Hotel Nadi, announced plans to develop hotels in both Labasa and Savusavu.
Dayal shared that they have secured a 10-acre beachfront property in Savusavu, emphasizing their long-standing desire to establish a presence in the area. He stated, “In the next 24 months, you will see the first resort to be constructed by a local.”
Regarding the Labasa project, construction of the Vualiku Hotel at Jaycee’s Park is anticipated to commence soon. This hotel development is a collaboration with the landowners, a partnership that was established 14 years ago. Dayal explained that this collaboration was aimed at involving landowners in mainstream business, and he feels that progress is finally being made.
He highlighted that these two projects will generate employment opportunities and provide other economic benefits. “Lunchbox today is a household name that employs 100 workers across seven branches,” he remarked. Additionally, he noted that the new Vualiku Hotel in Nadi employs 40 workers while the Labasa Northpole Hotel employs 30 workers.
Dayal expressed strong confidence in the economy, which motivates him to invest heavily in his business.
