A businessman from Labasa is making a significant investment to develop two hotels in the Northern Division. Vinesh Dayal, managing director of The Lunchbox, Northpole Hotels Labasa, and Vualiku Hotel Nadi, announced plans to construct hotels in Labasa and Savusavu.
Dayal expressed a long-standing desire to establish a presence in Savusavu, highlighting the acquisition of a 10-acre beachfront property in the area. He indicated that the first resort built by a local company is expected to be completed within the next 24 months.
Regarding the Labasa project, construction on the Vualiku Hotel at Jaycee’s Park is anticipated to start soon. Dayal noted that this hotel project is a collaborative effort with landowners, a partnership that has been in place for 14 years, aimed at involving the landowners in mainstream business activities.
He added that these two developments will not only create job opportunities but also contribute to the local economy. Currently, The Lunchbox brand employs 100 individuals across seven branches, with the new Vualiku Hotel in Nadi employing 40 workers and Labasa Northpole employing 30.
Dayal expressed strong confidence in the economy, which motivates his investment in these ventures.
