Lilian Amazon Women’s 7s head coach, Tirani Uluinakauvadra, has voiced his pride in three of his players who have been chosen to represent the Fijiana team at the Dubai 7s tournament scheduled for next week. The tournament will kick off next Friday and conclude on Sunday.

The selected players include the 18-year-old Mere Vocevoce, who is likely the youngest member of the Fijiana squad, alongside Kelerayani Luvu and Varanisese Qoro, both aged 19. Uluinakauvadra expressed his admiration for their achievements, stating, “For our Lilian Amazon team, we are very proud to have three of our girls selected to represent Fiji at the Dubai 7s.” He emphasized the significance of being able to field the youngest player from their team in the national lineup.

Highlighting the team’s commitment to player development, Uluinakauvadra noted that the Lilian Amazon squad is starting to see the fruits of the hard work and investments made over the past three years. “We wish the girls all the best, and the entire Lilian family will be cheering them on when they play in Dubai,” he said.

Though the absence of these key players creates a challenge for the local team as they pursue victories in local tournaments, Uluinakauvadra understands the bigger picture. “It affects us when we lose players, especially with our goal to win the local 7s series. But we’ve reset our objectives. When the nation calls, we prioritize the national team. Winning local tournaments is secondary to seeing our players wear the national jumper,” he added.

This narrative not only showcases the players’ achievements but also highlights a commendable philosophy of prioritizing national representation over local success. The story serves as an inspiration for young athletes and reflects the positive impact of dedication and teamwork in sports.

Summary: Tirani Uluinakauvadra, head coach of the Lilian Amazon Women’s 7s team, expressed pride in three players selected for the Fijiana team at the Dubai 7s, emphasizing the importance of national representation over local tournaments while celebrating the team’s developmental achievements.
