Light Up Your Holidays: Discover Unique Gifts at the MSME Festive Market!

Spread the love

If you’re looking for unique Christmas gifts, the Deo sisters have something special for you at the MSME Festive Market in Suva, located at the Civic Centre Car Park. Mahima and Suhani Deo are showcasing their handcrafted collection of candles and artwork, which are perfect for gifts or sprucing up your home décor.

Mahima, the elder sister, shared insights into their products: “We use 100 percent soy wax and a bit of gel wax for our candles, and they all come in various fragrances.” They offer a selection that reflects Fiji’s island culture, along with themed candles like dessert candles and body candles, alongside delightful sweet treats.

The sisters established their business, Alora Fiji, in 2021 as a way to channel their creativity and support their family. Mahima returned to Fiji from the United States after the passing of their father. Juggling a regular job at a family restaurant, she hopes to contribute financially while also pursuing her passion: “This is something that I really enjoy doing,” she said.

Addressing the challenges families like theirs face, Mahima noted, “With the rise in prices and added VAT, I’m trying to make delightful items more accessible to everyone in Fiji.”

This entrepreneurial spirit not only reflects resilience in the face of personal loss but also showcases the creativity and dedication of local artisans, making their products a meaningful choice for holiday shopping.

By supporting the Deo sisters, you contribute to a local business while finding a heartfelt gift this festive season.
