Lautoka football team midfielder Epeli Leiroti earned the title of best player at the conclusion of the 2024 Rooster Chicken/Scoops Ice-Cream Battle of the Giants held at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday. Leiroti played a pivotal role for Lautoka throughout the tournament. Although he did not score any goals, his impressive strength and skill in delivering precise passes to his strikers were notable. One of his critical passes led to Sairusi Nalaubu’s stylish goal, contributing to Lautoka’s 2-0 victory over Nadi.
The Golden Glove award was awarded to Joela Biuvanua of Nadi for his remarkable saves that helped Nadi reach the finals. Additionally, the Golden Boot awards were shared between Lautoka’s Saula Waqa and Rewa’s John Orobulu, both of whom netted six goals during the tournament.
