Legendary Footballer Nakul Reddy Remembered: A Tribute to a Soccer Icon

Nakul Reddy, a 6-time Inter District Championship (IDC) winner with Ba, has passed away. Affectionately known as “Gege,” Reddy peacefully died on Wednesday, July 10, in Fresno, California, at the age of 66.

Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel, along with board members and the entire football community, expressed profound sadness at Reddy’s passing. Patel emphasized Reddy’s significant contributions to Fijian football, describing him as a great footballer and an inspirational leader of his era. He extended his condolences to Reddy’s family during this difficult time.

Reddy had been playing games in the US and Canada since 1974 and joined the Fijian soccer community at the young age of 16. He was a standout performer for Balboa High School in San Francisco and also played first division football in the San Francisco League. Reddy represented the Men in Black from 1982.

His family has yet to announce funeral details.
