Legendary Footballer Nakul Reddy Mourned by Fijian Soccer Community

Nakul Reddy, a six-time Inter District Championship (IDC) winner with Ba, has passed away. Affectionately known as “Gege,” Reddy died peacefully on Wednesday, July 10, in Fresno, California, at the age of 66.

Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel, along with board members and the entire football community, expressed their immense sorrow at Reddy’s passing. Patel emphasized Reddy’s significant contributions to Fijian football, calling him a remarkable footballer and an inspirational leader of his time. He extended his condolences to Reddy’s family during this difficult period.

Reddy began playing in the US and Canada in 1974 and joined the Fijian soccer community at just 16 years old. He was a standout performer for Balboa High School in San Francisco and played first division football in the San Francisco League. Reddy represented the Men in Black starting from 1982.

His family has not yet announced his funeral details.
