Legendary Fijian Football Champion’s Passing Mourned

Nakul Reddy, a six-time Inter District Championship (IDC) winner with Ba, has passed away. Fondly known as “Gege,” Reddy died peacefully on Wednesday, July 10, in Fresno, California, at the age of 66.

The president of Fiji FA, Rajesh Patel, along with board members and the entire football community, expressed deep sorrow at Reddy’s passing. Patel praised Reddy’s significant contributions to Fijian football, describing him as a great footballer and an inspirational leader of his time. He offered his condolences to Reddy’s family during this challenging period.

Reddy had been playing games in the US and Canada since 1974 and was only 16 years old when he began his involvement in the Fijian soccer community. He was a standout performer for Balboa High School in San Francisco and played first division football in the San Francisco League.

Reddy represented the Men in Black starting from 1982. His family has yet to announce his funeral details.
