Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Professor Biman Prasad has announced that his legal team has formally responded to the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC), dismissing its allegations. In a statement to FijiLive, Professor Prasad mentioned that his lawyers are managing the situation and remain in communication with FICAC. He declined to provide further comments on the matter. This development comes as FICAC signaled its intent to file charges against Professor Prasad on Thursday. FICAC has also informed key officials, including President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, Acting Chief Justice Salesi Temo, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Attorney General Graham Leung, and Minister for Justice Siromi Turaga, about their intention to proceed with charges against him.
