Leeds Rhinos have announced the signing of Fijian winger Maika Sivo from the Parramatta Eels on a substantial three-year contract. The 31-year-old player, who is currently representing Fiji at the Pacific Championships, has been a standout performer with Parramatta since 2019, netting over a hundred tries in the NRL.

Sivo’s transfer to Leeds will bring him back in touch with coach Brad Arthur, who previously managed him during his decade-long tenure at Parramatta. This move marks Sivo as the fourth new signing for Leeds following the conclusion of the 2024 Super League season, joining Samoa’s Keenan Palasia, Australian second-rower Cooper Jenkins, and full-back Jake Connor from Huddersfield Giants.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the transition, Sivo stated, “Brad is a big part of who and where I am today. When he reached out to me about joining Leeds, I immediately accepted the offer. It was a significant decision for my partner and me to move to the other side of the world, but we were eager to embrace the upcoming challenge.”

This signing highlights Leeds Rhinos’ commitment to strengthening their squad with experienced international talent, positioning them for an exciting season ahead. Fans can remain hopeful for Sivo’s positive impact on the team, enhancing both their on-field performance and the overall dynamic of the squad.

In summary, Leeds Rhinos have strengthened their roster with the addition of Maika Sivo, linking him once again with coach Brad Arthur, a decision that promises to bring fresh energy and experience to their upcoming season.
