Leeds Rhinos have announced the signing of Fiji wing Maika Sivo from the Australian club Parramatta Eels on a three-year contract. The 31-year-old player is currently competing for his national team at the Pacific Championships. Sivo has been with Parramatta since 2019, where he scored over 100 tries in the NRL.
His move to Headingley brings him back together with Leeds coach Brad Arthur, who previously coached Parramatta for a decade. Sivo becomes the fourth addition to the Rhinos’ squad following the conclusion of the 2024 Super League season, joining Samoa’s Keenan Palasia, Australian second-rower Cooper Jenkins, and full-back Jake Connor from Huddersfield Giants.
Sivo expressed his excitement about the move, stating, “Brad is a big part of who and where I am today. When he flicked me the message to ask if I wanted to come to Leeds, I said ‘I’m coming’. It was a big decision for me and my partner to come to the other side of the world but straight away we were excited for the challenge ahead.”
