Leeds Rhinos have announced the signing of Fijian winger Maika Sivo on a three-year contract from the Australian club Parramatta Eels. The 31-year-old player is currently representing his country in the Pacific Championships and has been with Parramatta since 2019, where he made a significant impact by scoring over 100 tries in the NRL.
Sivo’s transfer to Headingley brings him back together with Leeds coach Brad Arthur, who previously managed him at Parramatta for a decade. This makes Sivo the Rhinos’ fourth signing since the conclusion of the 2024 Super League season, joining new teammates Keenan Palasia from Samoa, Australian second-rower Cooper Jenkins, and full-back Jake Connor from Huddersfield Giants.
Sivo expressed gratitude towards Arthur, stating, “Brad is a big part of who and where I am today. When he flicked me the message to ask if I wanted to come to Leeds, I said ‘I’m coming.’ It was a big decision for me and my partner to come to the other side of the world but straight away we were excited for the challenge ahead.”
