Dr. Raijeli Taga will be transitioning to serve as the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs starting February 3, 2025. This reshuffle has been confirmed by the Public Service Commission (PSC) and agreed upon by the Prime Minister, indicating a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing leadership across key governmental ministries.
In this administrative change, Dr. Lesikimacuata Korovavala will step into Dr. Taga’s previous role as Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister. Furthermore, Dr. Korovavala will also assume the responsibilities of Acting Permanent Secretary for Immigration, reporting directly to the Minister of Immigration.
Alongside these changes, Manasa Lesuma, the current Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Housing, has taken on additional duties as Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Policing since January 14, 2025.
Luke Rokovada, Chairman of the PSC, noted that this reshuffle is part of the government’s efforts to optimize leadership capabilities across essential sectors, ensuring that qualified individuals lead ministries effectively.
