Sitiveni Rabuka, the leader of the People’s Alliance Party, has announced that General Secretary Usaia Waqatairewa is stepping down from his role. Rabuka expressed concerns over Waqatairewa’s effectiveness as a party official and plans to propose Waqatairewa’s removal during the upcoming Management Board Committee Meeting. When approached for a comment, Waqatairewa declined to respond. The Party recently convened its Annual General Assembly in Lautoka. Further developments are awaited.
