Leadership Shake-Up: Electoral Commission Chair Resigns for New Role

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced the resignation of Barbara Malimali from her position as Chair of the Electoral Commission (EC). He received official confirmation via email from the Solicitor-General, who is part of the Constitutional Offices Commission (COC) Secretariat, at 8:17 AM on Saturday, September 14th. This announcement follows a recent newspaper article addressing Malimali’s resignation. The Prime Minister also noted that she has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC).
