LDS Church Transforms Student Housing with $1.1 Million Upgrade

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been commended for its recent project involving the completion of two new dormitories for students at Ratu Kadavulevu School. During the inauguration, Education Minister Aseri Radrodro expressed the government’s appreciation for the $1.1 million refurbishment.

The newly constructed dormitories, named Bure Cakau and Ma’afu, are designed to accommodate hundreds of students at Ratu Kadavulevu School, reflecting the Church’s ongoing commitment to education in the region.

The Church has a longstanding history of contributing to educational initiatives and humanitarian efforts in the Pacific, and this latest endeavor emphasizes its dedication to supporting the youth in Fiji.

The Minister highlighted the significance of collaboration between the government and private organizations to enhance educational infrastructure throughout the country.

The dormitories, which had suffered damage from fires in the past, now feature modern amenities including over 140 new double bunk beds, enabling them to house up to 280 students annually.
