Aporosa Yada’s exceptional performance, scoring two decisive goals in extra time, propelled Lautoka to a thrilling 5-3 victory over Ba in the first semifinal of the 2024 Extra Supermarket Futsal Inter District Championship (IDC) held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva. With this win, Lautoka secured their place in the grand final.

The match started energetically with Lautoka quickly establishing dominance through early goals from veteran striker Taniela Waqa and Yada. However, Ba responded just before halftime when Etonia Dogalau found the net. Dogalau struck again early in the second half, leveling the score.

In a nail-biting conclusion, Manasa Nawakula put Ba ahead shortly before the end of regular time, but Yada managed to equalize, forcing the match into extra time. There, Ba’s Ravinesh Chand missed a crucial penalty, allowing Lautoka to capitalize with two late goals from Yada, sealing their victory.

The 22-year-old Yada, hailing from Keiyasi, now leads the golden boot race with an impressive total of ten goals, establishing himself as a pivotal player for Lautoka as they head into the finals.
