Saula Waqa showcased his exceptional talent by scoring a hat-trick as Lautoka triumphed over Manukau All Stars with a score of 4-2 in the concluding match of the opening day of the Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup at Churchill Park.
Waqa demonstrated his prowess early in the game, finding the back of the net with two rapid goals at the 12th and 15th minutes. Continuing the momentum, left-back Sakaraia Naisua increased Lautoka’s lead in the 22nd minute. However, Garbhan Coughlan provided a glimmer of hope for the Manukau side by scoring their first goal, bringing the halftime score to Lautoka 3, Manukau 1.
Waqa further solidified Lautoka’s dominant performance by completing his hat-trick in the 38th minute. Although Coughlan managed to net another goal for Manukau in the 58th minute, it wasn’t enough to alter the outcome of the match.
Looking ahead, Lautoka will face Navua in their next match at 8:15 PM tomorrow, while Manukau All Stars will battle against AuFFI All Stars at 7 PM.
