Lautoka’s preparations for the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) have received a significant boost with the addition of seasoned goalkeeper Beniamino Mateinaqara. Currently based in Auckland, New Zealand, Mateinaqara has been granted leave from his employer, Rams Group of Companies, to enhance the Blues’ goalkeeping unit, which has faced challenges recently.
The former national team goalkeeper has a history of success in the IDC, having previously won titles and represented several clubs including Lautoka, Ba, Navua, Nadi, and Suva. Flick Hygiene Lautoka is placed in Group A alongside Suva, Navua, and Labasa, and will kick off their campaign against Navua in their first match at 6 pm next Tuesday.
