Host team Lautoka has been eliminated from the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) after their final Group A match ended in a 1-1 draw against Suva at Churchill Park today.
The Blues were in need of a win to secure a place in the semifinals, while the Whites required a victory by more than three goals to advance. Lautoka took the lead in the 31st minute with a well-placed shot from veteran midfielder Zibraaz Sahib.
Suva equalized in the 58th minute with a goal from Ni-Vanuatu player Joe Moses. As a result of this draw, Navua has advanced to the semifinals alongside Labasa from Group A.
