Host Lautoka’s campaign in the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) has received a significant boost with the arrival of experienced goalkeeper Beniamino Mateinaqara. Currently based in Auckland, New Zealand, Mateinaqara has been released by his employer Rams Group of Companies to enhance the Blues’ goalkeeping unit, which has faced challenges recently.
The former national goalkeeper has previously secured IDC titles and has played for several clubs, including Ba, Navua, Nadi, and Suva, in addition to his hometown Lautoka. Flick Hygiene Lautoka is placed in Group A alongside Suva, Navua, and Labasa, and will kick off their campaign against Navua at 6 PM next Tuesday.
