The Port of Lautoka has been active with a busy schedule of cruise ship arrivals and departures. According to the Cruise Mapper Website, P&O Cruises Australia’s Pacific Adventure docked in Lautoka on August 19 as part of a 12-day round-trip adventure in Fiji. This vessel, which is 23 years old, can accommodate up to 3,174 passengers and has a crew of 1,100 members.
The 14-deck cruise ship set sail from Sydney on August 13, making a stop at Mystery Island in Vanuatu on August 17. Previously named Dawn Princess, the Pacific Adventure arrived in Lautoka as planned and is scheduled to visit Dravuni Island in Kadavu before returning to Sydney on August 25.
With a construction cost of $1.003 billion, the Pacific Adventure features the Watrsila-Sulzer engine with a power output of 63.4 MW (85,021 hp). Cruise Mapper indicated that the vessel was navigating the South Pacific Ocean towards Lautoka with coordinates 17.60497 S / 177.43772 E.
After completing its Fiji journey, the Pacific Adventure will embark on a nine-day round-trip Barrier Reef Discovery Cruise, departing Sydney at 4 PM on August 25. The cruise will continue to Queensland, Australia, and will make stops in Cairns, Willis Island, and Moreton Island before returning to Sydney on September 3.
