Lautoka triumphed over Ba with a score of 4-2 in Round 15 of the DFPL, which took place yesterday at Churchill Park in Lautoka. The match gained momentum when Lautoka was awarded a penalty in the 25th minute following a foul on Sairusi Nalaubu by Ba’s Suliano Tawanakoro. Nalaubu successfully converted the penalty, putting Lautoka in the lead.
As the game progressed, tensions escalated, resulting in Ba’s Penaia Nagatalevu receiving a yellow card just five minutes later. Ba responded with determination and found the equalizer in the 35th minute when Peceli Sukabula scored, bringing the score to 1-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Lautoka regained control of the match. Saula Waqa scored in the 62nd minute, restoring Lautoka’s advantage. Aporosa Yada then further extended the lead, netting goals in the 65th and 78th minutes, completing a brace and bringing the score to 4-1.
Although Ba managed to score again with Sukabula’s second goal in the 90th minute, it was not enough to alter the final outcome of the match.
