Lautoka triumphed over Ba with a final score of 4-2 in Round 15 of the DFPL, which took place yesterday at Churchill Park in Lautoka. The action began when Lautoka was awarded a penalty in the 25th minute following a foul on Sairusi Nalaubu by Ba’s Suliano Tawanakoro. Nalaubu converted the penalty, giving Lautoka an early lead.
The game escalated in intensity, leading to a yellow card for Ba’s Penaia Nagatalevu just five minutes later. Ba showed determination and equalized in the 35th minute with a goal from Peceli Sukabula, leaving the score tied at 1-1 at halftime.
The second half saw Lautoka seize control of the match. Saula Waqa scored in the 62nd minute, restoring their lead. Aporosa Yada then netted two goals in quick succession, in the 65th and 78th minutes, completing a brace and pushing the score to 4-1.
Despite Ba’s late effort to close the gap, which included Sukabula scoring his second goal in the 90th minute, it was insufficient to alter the final result.
