Lautoka triumphed over Ba with a 4-2 victory in Round 15 of the DFPL, a match that took place yesterday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
The excitement began in the 25th minute when Lautoka was awarded a penalty after a foul on Sairusi Nalaubu by Ba’s Suliano Tawanakoro. Nalaubu took the penalty and successfully converted it, putting Lautoka in the lead.
As the match progressed, tensions grew, leading to Ba’s Penaia Nagatalevu receiving a yellow card just five minutes later. However, Ba responded strongly, and their efforts were rewarded in the 35th minute when Peceli Sukabula equalized, making it 1-1 as the teams went into halftime.
The second half saw Lautoka take charge, with Saula Waqa scoring in the 62nd minute to regain the lead. Aporosa Yada then further increased Lautoka’s advantage, netting a goal in the 65th minute and another in the 78th, completing a brace and extending the score to 4-1.
Although Ba mounted a late comeback, with Sukabula scoring his second goal in the 90th minute, it was not enough to alter the final result.
