Lautoka triumphed over Ba with a score of 4-2 in Round 15 of the DFPL, held at Churchill Park in Lautoka. The match intensified when Lautoka was awarded a penalty in the 25th minute following a foul on Sairusi Nalaubu by Ba’s Suliano Tawanakoro. Nalaubu converted the penalty, putting Lautoka ahead.
The match’s intensity escalated, leading to Ba’s Penaia Nagatalevu receiving a yellow card just five minutes later. Ba responded resiliently, and their efforts paid off in the 35th minute when Peceli Sukabula scored, equalizing the match at 1-1 as the teams went into halftime.
In the second half, Lautoka asserted dominance. Saula Waqa scored in the 62nd minute, regaining the lead for his team. Aporosa Yada then bolstered Lautoka’s advantage with goals in the 65th and 78th minutes, completing a brace and bringing the score to 4-1.
Although Ba made a late push, with Sukabula netting his second goal in the 90th minute, it was not enough to alter the final result.
