Lautoka triumphed over Ba with a score of 4-2 in Round 15 of the DFPL, which took place yesterday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
The match intensified when Lautoka was awarded a penalty in the 25th minute following a foul on Sairusi Nalaubu by Ba’s Suliano Tawanakoro. Nalaubu converted the penalty, giving Lautoka an early lead.
The tension continued to rise, resulting in Ba’s Penaia Nagatalevu receiving a yellow card just five minutes later. However, Ba responded with determination, and in the 35th minute, Peceli Sukabula equalized, making it 1-1 as the teams went into halftime.
In the second half, Lautoka regained control of the match. Saula Waqa scored in the 62nd minute, putting his team back in the lead. Aporosa Yada then boosted Lautoka’s advantage with goals in the 65th and 78th minutes, completing a brace and increasing the score to 4-1.
Although Ba rallied late in the game and Sukabula netted his second goal in the 90th minute, it was not enough to alter the final result.
